Hernando Audubon September Activities

Hernando Audubon Virtual Meeting: Mary Miller will speak about Bluebirds and Boxes. North American bluebirds are cavity nesters whose numbers seriously declined when the English House Sparrow was introduced in the U. S. in 1851 and took over their nesting cavities. This presentation tells of the remarkable recovery of the bluebird through conservation efforts of individuals and the North American Bluebird Society, which instituted the concept of bluebird trails.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 23, at 7 PM to 9 PM via Zoom. For details about connecting to this Zoom meeting, send a message to hernandoaudubonpresident@gmail.com.

Hernando Audubon Beginning Birding: Friday, September 24, at 8 AM to 11 AM at Chinsegut Conservation Center, 23212 Lake Lindsey Road, Brooksville. Learn to identify birds at feeders and during a short walk. There will be binoculars and bird guides available for use. For information, contact Claudia: camsler36@gmail.com or 813-244-0305.
