Hernando County Coastal Cleanup Oct. 21

Florida Sea Grant, UF/IFAS Extension Hernando County, and Hernando County Government are teaming up to host the 2017 Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Open to all ages.

Please come to Linda Pedersen Park, 6300 Shoal Line Blvd., Hernando Beach, FL 34607 at 8:00 am to check in. The total clean up range will be from Pine Island to Hernando Beach and everywhere in between.

Participants will be assigned to their location upon check in and provided trash bags, collection cards, and water. Please return all trash to the check-in location.

All plastics collected will be recycled and repurposed by TerraCycle. No registration required for this event, but participants will need to fill out a waiver at check-in.

Please wear footwear that can tolerate water, and bring gloves, sunscreen, and bug repellent. If you have a boat, kayak, canoe, or paddle board, you are welcome to bring it and clean up from the water. Boat ramps are located at Hernando Beach, Jenkins Creek, Rogers Park, and Bayport Park.
