By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on November 27, 2018

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Watch for Hernando County late Wednesday into early Thursday morning.

A cold and dry air mass will move into our area tonight into Wednesday. The cold air mass will allow temperatures to fall to near freezing over the Nature Coast. In addition to the cold temperatures winds will remain elevated over the region tonight and low wind chills will be possible during early Wednesday morning. If you must be outdoors tonight be sure to dress in layers to protect yourself from the cold.

Also, very cold temperatures are expected across our area Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. Freezing temperatures will again be possible early Thursday morning.

Steps you can take to prepare for Cold Weather

Consider the needs of pets during this time. Do not leave pets outside in the cold weather.

Cover or move plants that are sensitive to the cold temperatures.  Consider running pool pumps overnight during freezing temperatures to prevent damage.
