Hernando County Libraries May Adult Programs
The Hernando County Public Library System (HCPLS) announces the following program recommendations. All events are free and the public is encouraged to participate.
Adult Coloring for Stress Relief and Relaxation
Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the East Hernando Branch (6457 Windmere Rd., Brooksville, FL 34602) Drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for soothing music, a cup of herbal tea, a dollop of art therapy and maybe meet a new friend or two.
Monday, May 20 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the West Hernando Branch (6335 Blackbird Ave., Brooksville, FL 34613) Enjoy a mindful Monday. Join us for a discussion of resources on meditation & mindfulness followed by 30 minutes of meditation.
Friday, May 17 from 11:30 a.m – 12:30 p.m. at the Main Library Branch (238 Howell Ave., Brooksville, FL, 34601) Featuring Dr. Peter Dawson, author of the book, “Dorothy in a Man’s World: A Victorian Woman Physician’s Trials and Triumphs.” Join us for a discussion about the pioneering Victorian physician, Reed Mendenhall, who fought for equality in the male-dominated medical world and whose research saved countless lives.
Friday, May 17 from 3 – 4:30 p.m. at the Spring Hill Branch (9220 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34608) Join us for another special musical program in our ongoing series about the Golden Age of Jazz. Presented by former NPR Jazz Radio Announcer Peter LaMattina.
