The boil water notices in effect for areas east of Hwy. 41 and Weeki Wachee Woodlands has been rescinded.

A boil water notice is still in effect for Royal Oaks and the City of Brooksville. An announcement will be made when the notices are rescinded.

Tips for boiling water:

1. Run water from faucet for several seconds to flush any sediment or other contaminants

from the plumbing.

1. A rolling boil of water for one minute is sufficient. We advise that all water used for drinking, cooking/food preparation, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled until notified NOT to do so. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
2. Do not add bleach, chlorine, or any other substance, as a disinfectant to water to make it drinkable as this may be extremely hazardous to your health. The most effective means to ensure your safety is to boil water.
3. Apply these procedures until notified NOT to do so. You can return to normal water use at that time.

Once the water is restored, we suggest that you allow water to run in your kitchen and bathrooms for several minutes to remove any sediment that may have entered the system.

As a precautionary measure, we recommend that you roll boil the water that you use for cooking or consumption for a minimum of one minute until notified NOT to do so. Bacteriological samples will be collected for two consecutive days to ensure that the water meets safe drinking standards.
