Free Class  – Coming to Your Senses

Residents are invited to attend a free class, “Coming to Your Senses” on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the West Hernando Library – 6335 Blackbird Ave, Brooksville at 10:30 a.m. Learn techniques to enhance your gardening experiences and enjoy your piece of paradise with all of your senses. Sensory and Therapy Gardening will be discussed. The class will be presented by Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator, Lilly Browning. Free class. No registration necessary.

Free Class – Trees! Marvelous Trees!

Residents are invited to a free class on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Chinsegut Conservation Center – 23212 Lake Lindsey Road, Brooksville 34601 at 10:00 a.m. “Trees! Marvelous Trees!” will be presented by Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator, Lilly Browning and Volunteer Master Gardener/Arborist Ken Morgan. There will be a presentation on trees in our area and how to care for them, followed by a ‘tree walkabout’ in the woods led by Ken Morgan. Please bring water and shoes appropriate for walking in the woods. No registration necessary.

Saturday Rain Barrel Workshop on October 12th

Residents are invited to attend a Rain Barrel workshop on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10:30 a. m.  The workshop will be held at the Spring Hill Branch Library – 9220 Spring Hill Dr.  Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator, Lilly Browning will present the Rain Barrel Workshop.

To attend the Rain Barrel Workshop you must pre-register and send a check for $50 to HCUD – 15635 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34613.  Write “Rain Barrel Workshop October 12” on the envelope. Checks only accepted. They must be received by October 10. 2019.  Hernando County Utilities Customers who attend the workshop and install a rain barrel at their home will receive at one-time credit on their water bill for $25. Please bring a vehicle that can accommodate a 55 gallon barrel. Attendance at a workshop is mandatory to purchase a rain barrel. All sales final. Residents are invited to attend a free class, “Water-Wise, Wallet-Wise Landscapes” on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Spring Hill Branch Library – 9220 Spring Hill Dr. at 10:30 a. m. The class will be presented by Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator, Lilly Browning. Manage your landscape and your finances in an efficient, yet beautiful manner. Learn how to have a beautiful oasis that is easy on your time, money and water resources.  Free class. No registration necessary.
