HHPS features Antique Furniture in Interior Design & an Auction August 3
The Historic Hernando Preservation Society will be holding their monthly meeting at the Brooksville Mining Association Enrichment Center located at 800 John Gary Grubbs Boulevard on US 41 (Broad Street) in Brooksville on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 6:30 P.M.
Roger Carlton Sherman, former Board Chairman of the Henry B. Plant Museum in Tampa is the speaker for August’s meeting. He will be talking about antique furniture in interior design.
Roger Carlton Sherman is a donor to the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg and the Lightner Museum in St. Augustine among others. He moved to the Brooksville area from Tampa where he had an historic Green Brothers style bungalow in the Hyde Park Historic District.
A live Auction of about 30 items consisting of paintings, engravings, cloisonne, crystal and porcelains will be held at this meeting. All the proceeds will go to the Society’s Historic Marker Program.
The event will begin at 6:30 with a preview of the auction items beginning at 6:00. Admission is FREE. Light refreshments will be served.
