Historic Homes Workshop Feb. 24

The Historic Hernando Preservation Society, in conjunction with Brooksville Main Street and the Brooksville Woman’s Club, are offering a Free one-day workshop for owners of historic homes who wish to maintain the historic character of their home. The day consists of four sessions:

  • 10 am Designing a Period Kitchen
  • 11 am Researching Your Home’s History
  • noon Lunch
  • 1 pm Choosing Exterior Paint Colors
  • 2 pm Getting the Exterior Details Right

Attend one session of interest, or stay all day. Lunch will be available for purchase.

Historic Windows Repair Workshop February 23-25

Join window restoration experts from Wood Window Makeover in Brooksville, Florida for the 2018 Historic Homes Workshop. Spend a weekend meeting other historic preservation enthusiasts and professionals from around the country. It’s an opportunity to get to know and learn from some of the best restoration professionals in the industry during a relaxed, interactive, hands on event. The four course tracks offer a wide range of topics from an introduction to historic windows to advanced repairs and starting a restoration business. Taught by nationally known and local professionals, participants will explore all facets of historic window restoration. From only having opened a window, not repaired one… to business concepts in historic restoration, one of the educational tracks will certainly help you take your restoration abilities to the next level.

The Workshop will take place at the historic May-Stringer House Museum and will result in the restoration of the museum’s windows. The museums is located at: 601 Museum Ct., Brooksville, FL 34601.
