Homosassa Inshore Fishing Report with Captain Toney

A great week of sea trout fishing will give way to a cold front.

The trout bite has been good from Crystal River all the way south past Chassahowitzka. The best baits that I’ve caught them on is MirrOlure MirrOdines and D.O.A. 5.5 glow jerk baits. Rock grass flats and patches near outside points are the best spots. The cold front may push them back in the mouth of the major creeks and rivers.

On the incoming high tide, redfishing on the rocky points and shorelines is good.

There are a lot of short reds but the action is fun.

This month around the full moon should be good on the near shore rocks for sheepshead.

Incoming high tide will be in the afternoon this weekend.
