With a change in the weather, look for a change in the fishing. Cooler air will push trout into the creeks and rivers.

With the low tides because of the cold front and full moon, fish in the deeper sections and in the last leg of the channels of the creeks. Bays that have holes or deep stretches in them are also good places to fish. Trout may be slow to bite but working these places with a 1/8 oz. jighead with a glow or dark color soft plastic will get the bite. I like to use a D.O.A. glow C.A.L. shad with a chartreuse jig head or a MirrOlure watermelon redflake Provoker with a red jig head. 

River fishing with live shrimp can be a fun way to catch some fish with family over the Christmas week.

With cool weather there are warm spots and fish to bend the rod in the big rivers. Places where the channel comes close to the bank with a rocky shoreline are the places to fish.

Although they are not good to eat, ladyfish and jack crevalle are fun to catch. You can catch these fish closer to the heads of the river near the springs. Working jigs with a fast, twitching motion will get the bite.

Grouper season is coming to an end but be careful of the winds this week if you go. The bite has been at 18 to 25 feet.

High incoming tide will be in the morning this weekend.
