Pasco County Administrator urges residents to prepare and stay informed
Pasco County Administrator Dan Biles and Emergency Services Director Kevin Guthrie held a joint press conference today to discuss how Pasco County residents can prepare for the 2017 hurricane season.
Pasco County Administrator Dan Biles talked about the first 30 days of his administration, and urged residents to stay informed during hurricane season by downloading the MyPasco Mobile App. Information about a new service, Alert Pasco can be found on the MyPasco Mobile App.
“We are kicking off today our campaign for Alert Pasco, this is a mass communication tool that you can sign up on the MyPasco App,” said Kevin Guthrie Emergency Services Director. “This will allow you to get emergency notifications and serve weather alerts.”
Emergency Services Director Kevin Guthrie talked about how you can prepare for the 2017 hurricane season. Guthrie urges the community to take advantage of hurricane tax free weekend June 2, 2017 to June 4, 2017 to buy supplies for their disaster preparation kits. Guthrie also urged citizens to get Flood Insurance, one of the best ways to protect yourself from a storm.
Administrator Biles also announced Kevin Guthrie to be his choice for the next Assistant County Administrator for Public Safety. Guthrie’s appointment will have to be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
