Improving Head and Neck Cancer Treatment with Community Engagement

Who: Individuals who have had head and neck cancer
What: 30-minute phone interview.
When: scheduling now until 6/12/2021
Where: on phone
Why: Did you know that head and neck cancer is the seventh most common cancer in the world? Sixty percent of Florida counties are above the national rate.

UF/IFAS Extension Citrus County is pleased to partner with UF Health in a research project on making it easier for individuals with head and neck cancer to participate in clinical trials. Research shows that patient participation in clinical trials improves survival rates, yet only 8% of cancer patients choose to participate in trials.

The research team is recruiting head and neck cancer patients and survivors to participate in interviews to learn how you think clinical trials can be made more acceptable and reasonable to participate in.
