Mark Avery was honored with the title of 2018 Sertoman of the Year at the Inverness Sertoma Annual Banquet in May, held at the Inverness Golf and Country Club. Mark has been with Inverness Sertoma for the past fifteen years and during his tenure has served as club president for four terms, sergeant at arms for five terms, chairman of the board for three terms and received his Tenure Award five years ago in 2013.

Mark is a great supporter of Sertoma and believes in the work of the local club. Mark likes helping people in his community and on a personal note Mark said, “Sertoma helped my grandmother get hearing aids about eight years ago or so, and she is now 95 years old.”

Mark moved here from New Hampshire thirty-three years ago and started his business eighteen years ago which is AMAZING Repair Service LLC. He has been married to Grace Avery for fifteen years and they have built the business together and also opened a store called Gracie’s Goodies a thrift and gift store. Mark’s son Daniel lives in Orlando and will be moving up here next year to start working in the family business and eventually taking it over. Many of Mark’s immediate family live in Citrus County, his mom and dad and his brother and sister-in-law live in Hernando, and his grandmother lives at the Inverness Club in Inverness.

If you attend festivals in the county or any of the Sertoma fundraising events you will always see Mark lending a helping hand to benefit his club and community. Congratulations Mark, well deserved!
