January 2022 Gardening Classes
Everyone should have access to the knowledge of how to successfully grow your own food. This gardening series is an introduction for novice gardeners to prepare to get your hands dirty and gain the tools for success. The purpose of the gardening sessions is to prepare you for what comes next in our season with enough time to prepare and plan. Please, join our journey and revolutionize your idea of wholesome food.These sessions are designed as a lecture series covering different topics regarding home gardening. Each lecture will also provide written materials for you to take home for future reference.

Growing From Seed
Date: 1-6-2022Time: 6 pm – 8 pm

Description: This lecture will discuss the process of growing from seed. We will discuss types, the difference between transplanting and direct sowing, how to make your own seed starting mix, and how to care for young seedlings.

Understanding Healthy Soil and Fertilizer

Legume Family and Soil Inoculation
Date: 1-27-2022
Time: 6 pm – 8 pm

Description: This discussion will focus on the different types of beans available to home gardeners. We will discuss the difference between bush, pole, and semi-running beans and their planting requirements. We will differentiate the varieties in the legume family including snap, shelling, drying, Romano, yardlong, fava, lima, runner, garbanzo, and Edamame.
