It is that time of year when I have to tell you this will be our last picking of the season. We will close at the end of the picking day, July 2nd. Blackberries are available for $4.00/pound u-pick Thursday – Sunday 9am-1pm.
Strawberry season should start sometime in November as long as Mother Nature cooperates. 40,000 plants have been ordered. Also, plan to put greens, kale, swiss chard and lettuce in early so they can be available for Thanksgiving. Watch the facebook page for updates in September and October.
Five hundred more blueberry plants have been planted, so that we can have more berries for next season.
The cows made it through our drought with the help of the sweet corn and finally some rain. It is amazing how fast it drys up when there is no rain for a day or two; just shows you how bad the drought was and it going to take lots of good summer rains to catch up.
Remember you can get eggs or honey during the off season. Just call 352-799-0556 to let us know you are coming.
Have a safe and cool summer. We welcome you in back the fall.
