By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on November 17, 2017

The 18th annual Cotee River Christmas Parade will be Saturday, December 2, beginning at 6 pm from the Port Richey waterfront and ending at Sims Park in New Port Richey.

Boats of all kinds, decorated with strings of lights and holiday flare will glide along the Cotee River from Miller’s Bayou in Port Richey’s Waterfront to Sims Park in Downtown New Port Richey.

The parade will begin at approximately 6pm in the Port Richey waterfront.  There are many great places to view the parade along the river, with Sims Park providing entertainment prior to the parade courtesy of Dr. Unger’s Winterfest.

Boats, kayaks, or any type of seaworthy vessels are eligible to participate in the parade. Registration is required, you can go to www.bayoubusinessdistrict.com, click on the events tab which leads to the calendar. Click on December calendar and the information will pop up. Another easy way to register is to go to https://www.facebook.com/BBAandNPRMainStreet and send a message to the event planner. There will also be applications available at http://nprmainstreet.com.

Anyone that may have questions can call Kristin Tonkin at (727)364-7516. Please register by November 28.

There will be a Captains meeting for all participants at Gill Dawg on November 30.  Gill Dawg will provide homemade jambalaya and a delicious salad prepared by their talented staff. Event rules will be reviewed, participants will receive their boat number and their goodie bag that evening.

Following the boat parade there will be an after party at Whiskey River.

New Port Richey Main Street and the Bayou Business Association have partnered up to coordinate the extra spectacular evening event. Hits 106 radio station will broadcast the event.

Participants have a chance of winning a garnet jewelry set and a spot in the New Port Richey Holiday Street Parade the following Saturday, December 9.
