Library launches access to genealogy resources

The Hernando County Public Library System (HCPLS) will celebrate National Library Week from April 19 through April 25, 2020, by adding two new resources for genealogy research. HeritageQuest, a genealogical and historical resource, and Fold3™, a US military records database, will be new avenues for HCPLS patrons to find their place at the library.

Library launches access to genealogy resources for National Library Week

“Libraries have long served as trusted and treasured institutions where we can all come together, connect and learn alongside one another,” said Cindy Loftis-Culp, Library Services Manager. “This National Library Week is the perfect time to find your place here and explore your personal history with access to HeritageQuest and Fold3™.”

Your library invites all community members to visit your closest branch from April 19 through April 25 during National Library Week by exploring passions and discovering new interests through free technology, programs, and services. Registered cardholders who would like to access electronic resources can do so through an internet connection from the comfort of their home and use their HCPLS account number and pin to log in.

To access HeritageQuest and Fold3™ as a Hernando County Public Library cardholder, visit hernandocountylibrary.us/databases or call (352) 754-4043 for more information.

This project has been funded under the provisions of the State Aid to Libraries Grant program, which is administered by the Florida Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services.
