Live Oak Theatre Announces the Open Auditions for 2017-2018 Season

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on June 28, 2017

Live Oak Theatre announces that open auditions for its 2016-2017 season will be held on Thursday afternoon, July 6 from 4 pm to 6 pm and again by appointment only on Saturday evening, July 8, starting at 6 pm at the Fellowship Hall of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 200 Mt. Fair Ave., Brooksville, Florida 34601.

Auditions for all season productions will be held at that time. Those who audition should prepare 16 bars from a song that shows their strengths and vocal range. A less than two minute monologue will be welcome, but is not required. Cold readings will be used for call backs only.

MEMBERS OF LIVE OAK THEATRE WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN LAST YEAR’S PRODUCTIONS NEED NOT ATTEND OPEN AUDITIONS. Simply indicate your interest in participating in this year’s productions via email and we will schedule you for callbacks as needed on Thursday or Saturday.

Those children who attended this year’s performing arts camp have already auditioned at camp and Live Oak Theatre already has their audition applications.

Principal roles for the 2017-2018 season will be cast from these auditions. Members of Live Oak Theatre who wish to be considered for callbacks should contact Vince Vanni at the above-mentioned contact information or stage manager Kelli Alexander at kellialexander@yahoo.com or call 352-247-0666. Rehearsals for Annie begin in August.

Live Oak season consists of three productions:

  • Fall production – the full production of Annie will be presented October 13-14, and 20-22, 2017.
  • Live Oak’s Christmas production will be held on December 15 & 16, 2017.
  • Spring production – an original musical comedy, entitled ReUnKnighted will be performed on April 20-21, and 27-29, 2018.
