Live Oak Theatre Undertakes Capital Campaign to Purchase Former County Utilities Building

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on February 12, 2018

Live Oak Theatre has undertaken a capital campaign to purchase a home of its own. On January 23, 2018, the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners agreed to sell the former utilities building located at 2103 Cortez Boulevard to Live Oak Theatre.

Upon hearing the news, Live Oak accelerated a campaign to raise $100,000 for a deposit. Within weeks, approximately $30,000 has been raised.

The theatre group has a variety of fundraisers planned including a pledge campaign, a private gala aimed at attracting leading business owners and professionals, and even a change jar campaign. One hundred plus children are already converting Mason jars and spaghetti jars into change jars. Look for them around Hernando and Citrus Counties.

“Our children have already raised over $600 in the last week alone,” said Live Oak Theatre President and Artistic Director Randi Olsen.

Live Oak Theatre is accepting donations and pledges of any amount.

To make a donation of any kind, click here or you can send a check payable to Live Oak Theatre, PO Box 12285, Brooksville, Florida 34603.
