Live Oak Theatre’s Capital Campaign matches $100,000 Grant

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on April 25, 2018

The theatre company will perform its final production (ReUnKnighted) at Faith Church.

Live Oak Theatre is pleased to announce that its capital campaign has exceeded its $100,000 goal and, thereby, is eligible to receive an additional challenge grant of $100,000.  On March 2, the theatre company announced that it had received a 100,000 donation from an anonymous benefactor.  Along with the contribution came a $100,000 challenge grant.

Under the terms of the challenge grant, Live Oak Theatre had been challenged to raise $100,000 from the community. If it was successful in reaching this amount, it would receive an additional matching anonymous donation of $100,000! The goal was achieved on Friday, the 13th of April, only six weeks from the announcement.

With the challenge grant, the non-profit theatre company has raised $300,000+, allowing it to place a sizable deposit on the $500,000 building and maintain a reasonable mortgage.

About the campaign

Live Oak Theatre undertook a capital campaign to purchase a home of its own.  On January 23, 2018 the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners agreed to sell the former utilities building located at 21030 Cortez Blvd. to Live Oak Theatre.

The Theatre held a variety of fundraisers, including a pledge campaign and even a change jar campaign. 100+ children are already converting mason jars and spaghetti jars into change jars. Look for them around Hernando and Citrus counties.

Live Oak Theatre is still accepting donations and pledges of any amount to pay down the balance and make additional improvements to the property.

To make a donation of any kind please go to www.LiveOakTheatre.org and click on the “DONATE” button or you can send a check payable to Live Oak Theatre to P.O. Box 12285, Brooksville, FL 34603.

LOT Performs its final production at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church this weekend. All future shows to be in their new Center for the Performing Arts.

Prince Charming: Erik Leithe (Left) finds it hard to contain his annoyance as Robin: Jesalyn Berard (Right) tries her hardest to woo him.

Tickets are now on sale for LOT’s ReUnKnighted, a delightful original musical. (Join Sir Gareth and Sir Percival, as they hilariously attempt to rid their fair Queendoms from the vile Morgana in this Original Musical of Medieval Misadventure.)   All seats are reserved.

ReUnKnighted will be performed on April 27-29, 2018 at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 200 Mt. Fair Avenue, Brooksville, Florida 34601. Shows are 7:30 pm on Fridays and 2:30 and 7:30 pm on Saturdays. Sunday matinees are at 2:30. Doors open 30 minutes before show time.

ReUnKnighted is a medieval comedy that pokes fun at classic fairy tales and Arthurian legend while taking the audience on a musical adventure,” said the show’s director, Kyle Marra. (Mr. Marra recently directed the highly successful Wizard of Oz.)

All Live Oak Theatre productions are family-friendly and feature adults and youth cast in age-appropriate roles.

Single admissions to the productions are $20 for adults; students under 13 are $5 with the purchase of an adult ticket. The tickets include coffee, tea, and dessert.
