Live Oak Theatre’s first Winter Ball will be held on Saturday, February 16 at 7 pm and feature a complete Viennese experience. The ball will provide entertainment on both levels of the of the Carol & Frank Morsani Center located at 21030 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville, Florida 34601.

A delectable selection of Viennese and European hors d’oeuvres similar to what you would find at a ball in Vienna will be provided by Continental Catering. All refreshments will be served on the veranda overlooking the garden area. Complimentary coffee, tea and dessert will also be served and there will be a cash bar.

The floor of the theatre section will be cleared, and patrons will dance to the DJ talents of Jason Sagar who will play a selection of modern dance music.

The Grand Ballroom will feature ballroom and swing style music and the vocal and musical talents of Live Oak Theatre and Conservatory faculty and students. Members of the Live Oak Conservatory will provide tributes to such artists as Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, and Harry Connick, Jr. Hernando County’s own Stephanie Barnett Sagar and Randi Olsen will perform a wide range of classical and Broadway ballroom tunes.

Cake decoration contest

The Viennese ball will also feature a Viennese cake decoration contest. Members of the community are invited to enter the cake contest and provide samples for an audience choice award. A prize will be offered for the cake chosen by the audience as the best of the evening. Cakes will then be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

The fundraiser is designed to equip conservatory students with the tools they need for success. The Live Oak Conservatory offers 25 different programs in the performing arts and the scholarship fundraiser will be used to purchase equipment and to subsidize tuition for those students who require assistance to attend the conservatory.

The cost for the ball is $75 per couple or $40 per ticket, which will include all the European refreshments, coffee and tea.
