Master Gardener Class offers Online Sessions

The Master Gardener program is accepting new Master Gardener trainees for its next class beginning in September, but because it is difficult for many people to take off from work during the week for training, this class will be offered on-line.

The Master Gardener program will still meet on Tuesday evenings from 6-9PM for hands-on sessions, but all the other lessons will be offered on the University of Florida’s Canvas E-learning platform.

Hernando County’s Master Gardener program is excited to be the first county in the state to offer training with the new format, and are looking for Hernando County residents interested in receiving this advanced training.

It will include many aspects of horticulture and allow our organization to become more involved in the community.

If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Dr. William Lester at 352-754-4433 Ext. 5 or wlester@ufl.edu for more details.

There will be a mandatory orientation session for everyone who is interested in applying on Tuesday August 1 from 6-7:30 PM. Free registration for the orientation session is available at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hernando-county-master-gardener-orientation-tickets-35344060035
