Music at the Museum Fall 2018 Season begins November 15

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on November 4, 2018

Music at the Museum Fall Concert Series begins on November 15, 2018 with singer and songwriter Brian Smalley, who sings with a soulful, earthy yet energetic voice and his live performances tend to be just that: lively! For the past eighteen years, Brian has made music his sole occupation. A great many of the songs he sings are set in and inspired by Florida, a state of mind, and a state of nature, that he loves to write about and longs to see preserved.

On December 13, 2018 Savants of Soul, a group comprised of nine musically-diverse and talented individuals who take influences from Motown, blues, hip-hop, punk, and jazz to create a funky sound that is uniquely their own will be in town. They write and perform their own original songs with a passionate and theatrical live performance that never fails to leave their audience feeling good. They will even perform a few holiday favorites.

For both events doors open at 6:00 p.m., music is between 7:00pm to 9:00 pm at 1 Courthouse Square, downtown Inverness in the Historic Citrus County Courthouse where Elvis was performed in movie, Follow That Dream.

The Citrus County Historical Society asks for your financial support and or sponsorship for this performance series. Each concert provides light refreshments and a cash bar, which supports our fundraising efforts. Partnerships and sponsorships are always available. For more information, please call 352-341-6428 or e-mail [email protected].  Go on-line to purchase tickets at

In addition, do not forget “Inverness Walks!” on November 14, 2018 at 9:00am. The popular Downtown Inverness Guided Walking Tour begins its season. These highly entertaining and educational tours are held the third Wednesday morning of each month and since there has been such popularity for them, reservations are required — and they fill up fast!

Hear stories of early and present-day Inverness as your guide shows you a small town rich with history. Experience the walkable downtown and its historic buildings.

All proceeds benefit the exhibition, programs, and operations of the Inverness Cultural Heritage Council at the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum. $5/adult, $2/child. For reservations and more information, call (352) 341-6428.
