National Novel Writing Month Events at Citrus Libraries

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on October 13, 2018

National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short, is a worldwide program where people knuckle down to get 50,000 words written in the month of November. To support local authors, Citrus Libraries have organized several Kick-Off parties in October where writers can meet up, share stories, and get motivated for the month to come. Kick-Off events will be held for both adults and young writers on the following dates:

  • Saturday, Oct 13th |  12:30pm-3:30pm [adults 12:30am-1:45pm/ youth 2:15-3:30pm] Central Ridge Library (Beverly Hills)
  • Monday, Oct 15th |  12:00pm-1:30pm (adults)  & 3:00-4:00pm (youth) Coastal Library  (Crystal River)
  • Saturday, Oct 20th |  10:30am-2:00pm [adults 10:30am-12:00pm/ youth 12:30-2:00pm] Lakes Region Library (Inverness)

During the month of November, the library will also be offering space for NaNoWriMo Write-Ins. A NaNoWriMo Write-In provides authors with a place to escape their daily distractions and get some much needed writing done. Writers can bring computer, tablet, notebooks, or whatever they would like to use to write and join others in this creative space. Write-In dates are as follows:

  • Saturday, Nov 3rd |  10:00am-1:00pm Lakes Region Library (Inverness)
  • Wednesday, Nov 7th |  11:00am-2:00pm Coastal Library  (Crystal River)
  • Saturday, Nov 10th | 11:00am-2:00pm Central Ridge Library (Beverly Hills)
  • Tuesday, Nov 20th |  11:00am-2:00pm Floral City Library
  • Wednesday, Nov 28th |  11:00am-1:00pm Homosassa Library
