National Weather Service puts Nature Coast under Hurricane Warning

The National Weather Service issued a hurricane warning at 5:58 a.m. today, Saturday, September 9, from Bonita Beach north to the Suwanee River, including Pasco County.

A hurricane warning means that sustained winds of 74 miles per hour or higher associated with a hurricane are expected within 36 hours.

Residents should be aware of the possibility of tornadic activity associated with the hurricane.

Residents living along water ways and rivers should monitor water levels for potential flooding.
