The Nature Coast Disc Golf Club, operating in Floral City Park was established in 2010, and continues to volunteer service hours to improve the Park and disc golf experience.

Nature Coast Disc Golf Club Partners with County to make improvements to Floral City Park

The group of approximately fourteen active members collaborates with Citrus County Parks and Recreation to organize and carry out at least one park cleanup day a year. The club is also responsible for cleanup before large events and upgrades along with maintenance of the disc golf course spending over 140 hours a year maintaining and improving the park. Members dedicate volunteer time to pick up trash throughout the park on a regular basis.

In recent years, the club has added five new course holes, buying and installing the baskets, to expand the course to 24 holes. An island has been constructed for hole 6D, and four missing concrete tee pads have been replaced, and tee arrows under the baskets to direct players to the next tee pad have been added.  Future planned improvements include, planting new trees to replace fallen trees, eight new concrete pads, and new tee signs for all long and short pad holes (47 in all).

Normally the club runs eight signature events a year, which include;  the Ice Bowl, partnering with Citrus United Basket to raise money and food for needy families in citrus county, the Floral Fling amateur event, an Ace Race, Trilogy Challenge, the big Luau Event, an annual Club party event, Christmas Eve doubles extravaganza, and the 100+ hole Ironman Challenge.  These events are on top of the weekly handicap round on Sundays and random dubs/glow golf each Thursday.
