The Nature Coast Volunteer Center (NCVC) of Citrus County and Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will be hosting a 9/11 Cards & Letters to First Responders Project during the month of August 2022.

Nature Coast Volunteer Center to Host 9/11 Cards & Letters to First Responders Project

They will be collecting cards and letters of encouragement and appreciation during the month of August that they will deliver to first responders in our community.

This year marks the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and has been designated as a National Day of Service and Remembrance. On this day, Americans across the country volunteer in their local communities as a tribute to the individuals lost and injured in the attacks, first responders, and the many who have risen in service to defend freedom.

This day of service is a way to honor those who were lost and to rekindle the spirit of unity and compassion that followed the attacks. The public is invited to participate in the remembrance of 9/11 by sending a card or letter of appreciation and encouragement for our first responders to the NCVC, 2804 W. Marc Knighton Court, Key #4, Lecanto, FL 34461. Your sentiments will be delivered to our community’s first responders on and around 9/11.

If you have any question about this project, please call (352) 527-5959.
