1. Information we collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on NatureCoaster.com, NatureCoaster’s mobile sites and applications, any of the features of this site, including but not limited to RSS, API, software and other downloads (collectively referred to here as “Services”). We collect this information to conveniently provide you with our news and information, or for technical reasons.

The information we may collect includes:

• The type of device you are using to view NatureCoaster.com
• Your subscription information, not including credit card information or other payment details
• Anonymous usage statistics
• Information provided by Apple, which may include your name, email address and ZIP code
• Anonymous information, such as your internet service provider, IP address and internet browsing software, collected by our website
• “Cookies,” which enables the website to remember your information if you return to the site, such as to keep you logged in or to remember your login credentials if you return to the site

2. Mailchimp

If you sign up for our newsletter, which is administered through Mailchimp, or if you register for our site, we will store some of your information, including your email address, IP address and certain information about the links you click within the emails we send you, on a Mailchimp server. Neither we nor Mailchimp will ever sell your email address or share it with any other party, unless we are legally compelled to do so. If you contact Mailchimp directly regarding your subscription to our newsletter, Mailchimp may contact you directly; otherwise, Mailchimp will never contact you. Only authorized Mailchimp employees have access to our subscriber list. You are always free to unsubscribe from our newsletter, but as long as you are registered with NatureCoaster.com we may use Mailchimp to send you information about your account.

3. How we use your information

We use your information only to complete operations necessary to produce and distribute NatureCoaster.com. We do not share your information with third parties except (such as in the case of Mailchimp) when it’s necessary to complete the functions of NatureCoaster.com.

When you email us, we will use your email address only to respond to you and for no other purpose.

Sometimes we may use anonymous information about your use of our site in combination with other users’ usage to make decisions about the contents and design of NatureCoaster.com. We may also share these anonymous statistics with potential sponsors and partners.

We may disclose your information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or to defend against legal claims.

We have put in place systems to safeguard the information you provide to us. We will never provide access to our databases to any third party, except to the extent necessary to conduct the operations of the magazine (such as providing user data to Mailchimp).

5. Children’s privacy

Per our Terms of Service, users certify that that are at least 13 years of age. We never collect or store information of anyone we know to be under 13, and NatureCoaster.com content is created for an adult audience.

6. Changes to this policy

NatureCoaster.com reserves the right to change this policy at any time. Although we will notify users appropriately when changes are made to this policy, you are responsible for checking this page for changes. Your use of NatureCoaster.com constitutes agreement to this privacy policy

Email Privacy Policy

Here at NatureCoaster.com we believe in a spam-free universe and we’re doing our best to make it happen. We won’t rent, sell or barter your email address to third parties. We will also not make your email address available to third parties unless they are serving as a contracted suppression or broadcast vendor on our behalf to send you the email you explicitly requested, and they have strict privacy and security precautions in place.

In addition, we will only send you NatureCoaster.com emails related to the newsletter and/or topics you signed up for with us.

Most of our newsletters are weekly. In addition, we may send you very occasional invitations to participate in special promotional opportunities.

Your email address

We only collect and hold your email address in order to send you the information and services you have requested. You can unsubscribe at any time for any reason quickly and easily at our online preferences center. If you ever have a problem with your subscription, feel free to contact Customer Service at email@naturecoaster.com.

Your friend’s email address

You may notice throughout this site we offer you the chance to send a friend an article or a note telling them about the site. We will only use your friend’s email address in order to send the message you asked us to send. Then they will never ever hear from us again … unless they voluntarily subscribe to our services!

Viral marketing gone terribly wrong
We recognize that there are some bad (or just ignorant) people in this world who may abuse our “send a note to a friend” system to send some email to a person who is NOT a friend and who doesn’t want to get email from us.

Unfortunately, this is a built-in danger when you offer people the convenience of forwarding an article to a friend. If someone using our system sends you something you don’t want, we apologize unreservedly.

Special Issues

In addition to our regular, weekly newsletters we may occasionally send you Special Reports and research-related invitations that you may find valuable.

Special offer blasts
Again, we will never send you an email blast on behalf of a third party. Occasionally, we’ll email you information about NatureCoaster-related material.

Unsubscribing

We really hate sites and ezines that are hard to unsubscribe to. So at NatureCoaster we’ve made it real easy. Just look for the “Your Email Account” link at the bottom of each e-communication you receive from us. That link also helps you change email addresses quickly and easily.

If you want your snail mail address removed from this list, email Customer Service at email@naturecoaster.com and we’ll take care of it.

In the event that NatureCoaster.com ever updates its privacy policy, the new information will be posted here.
