New Nonprofit holds event for Ryan’s Rope Foundation

Ryan Bullock recently lost his battle to the opioid epidemic that is sweeping this nation. Many of his friends and colleagues decided to create Ryan’s Rope Foundation, a new charitable nonprofit. A proven way for an addict to remain clean and sober is by helping others, the way someone helped them. It is not unlike an uphill battle climbing that mountain to freedom and some don’t make it.

New Nonprofit holds event for Ryan’s Rope Foundation

Building on the idea of mountain climbing, where each climber is connected to the others by ropes. Ryan’s mother had wished that for him…a rope to help him stay clean and sober. With that thought, friends and supporters created Ryan’s Rope Foundation, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) corporation.

Ryan may have recently lost his battle to the addiction, but his memory will live on through the work of the nonprofit organization that now bears his name. With that purpose in mind the Foundation held its first fundraiser. The presenting sponsor for this event was McWilliams & Son, Inc. Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical.

“Ryan was my best friend, and he struggled with addiction,” said Mike Gasparino, founder of the foundation. “The bowling event was a huge success, and Ryan’s way of paying it forward with the entire community helping him do so,” he added. Mr. Bullock, Ryan’s father, was also at the event including more than 250 people who helped raise funds and create awareness. Also, the proceeds from this event has already supported two local young men, fighting addiction to get help and giving them that “rope” they so desperately needed.

This first annual “Striking the Epidemic” bowling event was held in June at Lane Glo Bowl inNew Port Richey. Ryan’s Rope Foundation mission is to provide funding and resources to those affected by the addiction epidemic and to reach out to the community and provide wellness and healthy lifestyle choices. The founder is Mike Gasparino. Ryan’s Rope Foundation is now planning a golf tournament to be held soon.

Proceeds to benefit Ryan’s Rope Foundation will fund resources for persons affected by addiction who do not have the means to provide their own.
