New Port Richey grants Restaurants and Retailers use of Rights-of-Way

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on May 22, 2020

New Port Richey City Manager Debbie L. Manns signed two Administrative Development Orders which will permit restaurants and retail shops to expand outdoor seating and display areas. These Orders were implemented in response to the Governor’s Phase I Plan to reopen Florida’s economy.

The Administrative Development Orders will provide a path toward improving business operations, while maintaining a priority focus on core safety tenets by allowing parking spaces and other private areas of an establishment’s property to be used for additional seating and display areas.

The Orders also allow businesses to register for use of public rights-of-way including, but not limited to Nebraska Avenue from Adams Street to Grand Boulevard and from Grand Boulevard to the Allgood & Misemer Law Office located at 5645 Nebraska Avenue, the sidewalks along Main Street, and the sidewalks along Grand Boulevard.

New Port Richey Restaurants and Retailers may now use Rights-of-Way

Any public right-of-way designated for restaurant use is available Monday through Thursday from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, Fridays from 6:00 – 10:00 pm, Saturdays from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Sundays from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Within the bifurcated Nebraska Avenue districts, food and alcoholic beverages sold for consumption on the premises by a restaurant may be consumed, held, carried, and transported anywhere within or between the districts.

Any public right-of-way designated for retail sales establishment use is available every day from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Businesses are not required to file a development order or permit application for expanded outdoor use, provided that they comply with all conditions enumerated in the Administrative Development Orders posted on the City’s website www.cityofnewportrichey.org
