Newcomers Guide to Pasco Lawnscaping series in Land O’ Lakes
UF/IFAS Pasco County Cooperative Extension Service is offering a ‘Newcomers Guide to Pasco Lawnscaping’ series at the Land O’ Lakes Heritage Park Community Center, located at 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., in Land O’ Lakes. The series is recommended for newcomers, but will appeal to all homeowners struggling with lawn and landscaping issues in Central Florida.
Residents are encouraged to attend both sessions, as different topics will be covered in detail. The Saturday January 26, 2019 and Saturday, February 2 sessions run from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The series is presented by County Extension Director/Urban Horticulture Agent Dr. Whitney Elmore, Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Manager Jim Moll and FFL Program Coordinator Frank Galdo.
The two workshops consist of topics including:
- Growing Resilient Turfgrass – includes information on diseases, pest and turf species
- Soil Fertility and Proper use of Fertilizers
- Using Irrigation Properly and Irrigation Troubleshooting – includes information on reclaimed water use
- Florida-Friendly Landscaping – Common Landscaping Pitfalls
