The Hernando County Parks and Recreation Department will be extending its parking fee collection time for Alfred McKethan/Pine Island Park, located at 10840 Pine Island Drive near Hernando Beach, to the following schedule effective July 1, 2019:

• Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Parking fee collection time extended at Alfred McKethan/Pine Island Park

The parking fee will remain at $5 and staff will be located at the front gate to collect fees during these hours. The additional collected fees will be used for staffing during the busy summer months to help maintain County parks.

Additionally, Alfred McKethan/Pine Island Park will be closing its gates at 9 p.m. daily for the summer months effective July 1, 2019. Any vehicles still in the park after 9 p.m. will be subject to additional fines.

A friendly reminder that no pets are allowed in any County parks with exception to the County’s designated dog park, Rotary Centennial Park located at 10375 Sandlor Street in Spring Hill.
