Citrus County Pet-Friendly Parks

Citrus County Parks and Recreation has reopened the parks and beaches for summer time activity.  For the health and safety of our citizens and furry friends here’s a refresher of a few simple Do’s and Don’ts for pet owners who bring their dog to a county park.

Parks and Pets Refresher

Please Do:

-Keep your dog on a leash with the exception of Bluebird Springs, which has a fenced dog park
-Walk dogs on walking/ jogging trails
-Walk dogs during daylight hours only
-Use cleaning stations and bags provided at the park, or bring your own, to clean up after your dog
-Only bring your dog to parks approved for dog walking

Please Don’t:

-Bring your dog to Fort Island Gulf Beach or Hernando Beach. PETS are not allowed
-Let your dog run free at any county park
-Walk dogs in fields or green spaces – please stay on designated trails
-Bring dogs to special events

•             Bluebird Springs
•             Central Ridge District Park
•             Eagleton Park
•             Floral Park
•             Holden Community Park
•             Homosassa Area Recreation Park
•             Lecanto Community Park
•             Water Tower Park
