The Pasco County Animal Services Department (PCAS) is offering residents an opportunity to protect family pets and save money at the same time. PCAS will be holding low-cost rabies vaccine and microchip clinics Wednesdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., beginning April 5, 2017 in the PCAS adoption center, located at 19640 Dogpatch Lane, Land O’ Lakes, Florida.
Discounted dog and cat pricing during the special clinics will be as follows:
- One-year rabies shot – $8.00
- 3-year rabies shot – $13.00 (Rabies certificate not more than 30 days past due required.)
- Microchips – $15.00
Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers. Pets have to be healthy and cannot be pregnant when they’re vaccinated. Please bring a copy of any previous vaccination records and license information. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted.
PCAS is excited to provide this inexpensive option to help Pasco County pet owners keep their cats and dogs current on rabies vaccines. Rabies is a preventable viral disease, generally transmitted through the bite of a rabid animal. Most cases do occur in wild animals; however, rabies can be passed on to unvaccinated pets and humans. Pet owners who purchase rabies vaccines are also required to obtain a Pasco County cat or dog license.
Microchips help responsible pet owners increase the likelihood that their beloved cat or dog will be returned home, should they become lost.
