In an effort to showcase the benefits of biking and to encourage more people to give biking a try, the Pasco County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) declares the month of May, 2017 as Bike Month.
Pasco County is also declaring the third week in May as Bike to Work Week. Friday, May 19, 2017 will be Bike to Work Day. Pasco County employees are encouraged to participate in Bike to Work Week by riding their bikes to and from their job.
Pasco County MPO encourages all citizens to ride their bikes to work, school, and parks and around their neighborhood with friends and family. Explore the many wonderful bike trails in Pasco County! Bicyclists are urged to be safe, responsible and to follow the rules of the road while riding.
National Bike Month was established in 1956. This is the fifth Bike to Work Week celebrated by Pasco County. The Pasco County Board of County Commissioners, in part, adopts the MPO Bike Month resolution to highlight its commitment to vibrant communities.
