Pasco County Announces ‘Star’ Employees of the Year

Pasco County Government is proud to recognize our Star Team, Star Performer and Star Leader of the Year for 2021!  Team members are nominated by their peers throughout the organization for their significant contributions and dedication to serving our community.  County leadership then votes on the overall winners:

Geographic Information Services (GIS) is Pasco County’s 2021 Star Team of the Year.  The GIS team tackled more than a dozen in-depth projects over the past year – including building interactive dashboards, apps and maps – to provide real-time information for both our internal and external customers.  GIS readily volunteers to work on highly technical solutions that other organizations often outsource, continually moving Pasco County forward.

Veterinarian Dr. Christine Glenn, with Pasco Animal Services, is our 2021 Star Performer of the Year.  Dr. Glenn and her team are lifesaving heroes, managing more than 3,700 surgeries and 150,000 treatments every year – not to mention the twice-weekly public vaccine clinics they oversee. Going above and beyond for her community is just in Dr. Glenn’s nature – as documented in this ABC Action News story.  We’re pleased to recognize her not only for the work she does in our community, but for also supporting other lifesaving partner organizations.

Pasco County’s 2021 Star Leader of the Year is Facilities Management Maintenance Supervisor Vito Tambasco.  For over 30 years, Vito has had one goal in mind: superior customer service.  His infectious dedication is guiding his team through one of the most challenging times in the county’s history.  They continue to innovate and adjust as they work to provide safe, comfortable workplaces and provide overwhelming support to the Pasco team and community. Vito’s authenticity and ability to truly ‘lead by example’ is what sets him apart.

“We’re thrilled to recognize our team members who consistently perform at a high level to make Pasco County a better place to live, work and play,” said Pasco Board of County Commissioners Chair Kathryn Starkey.  “Our 2021 winners truly represent the best qualities of teamwork and leadership, and certainly showcase the incredible talents in Pasco County Government.”

The Pasco Board of County Commissioners formally recognized the winners with a resolution during the January 25, 2022, board meeting.  See photo here: bit.ly/3rQpzXe.
