Schools to close on Friday, September 8th, due to Hurricane Irma
Due to severe weather expected from Hurricane Irma, all Pasco County residents are encouraged to use caution when venturing outside during the storm. The following will be closed for business on Friday, September 8, 2017:

The Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Department is closing all county parks due to the approaching hurricane. Due to inclement weather conditions and potential flooding concerns that may be caused by Hurricane Irma, all county parks will be closed Saturday, September 9, 2017 until further notice. Camping will cease Friday, September 8, 2017. No reservations will be accepted, until further notice, for Friday evening and beyond. Please observe all National Weather Service Coastal Hazardous messages, warnings and advisories for beaches and high surf areas.
SunWest Park is closed until further notice
Pasco County Clerk & Comptroller, and the Courts
PHSC is currently closed due to Hurricane Irma, with plans to reopen on Monday, September 11, 2017.
Pasco County Government Offices will remain open; however, some non-essential Pasco County Government offices and services may be closed due to the threat of high winds, flooding and severe weather.
Bus service from Pasco County Public Transportation is currently running, although residents should expect delays. Bus service will be canceled if winds exceed 39 miles per hour.
Pasco County Animal Services will close to the public starting at 11 a.m. on Friday,
September 8, 2017. Animal Control Officers will be available for emergency response as needed. Animal Services personnel will be manning a pet-friendly evacuation shelter on these days.
The Pasco County Elderly Nutrition Division announces the temporary closing of all Pasco County Senior Center locations as the county continues to make preparations ahead of Hurricane Irma. All sites are closed effective immediately and will reopen on Monday, September 11, 2017, weather permitting. During the closure, all home delivery services will be canceled and resumed once weather conditions improve. For more information: Pasco County Elderly Nutrition Division.
All parks located within the City of New Port Richey will be closed on Sunday, September 10, 2017 due to the weather conditions associated with Hurricane Irma.
Residents are asked to secure all trash and recycling bins following Saturday’s pick-up service. Suspension of commercial collection service is to be determined on a case-by-case basis by each individual hauler. Commercial customers should contact their service provider for information.
