Pasco County Launches Updated Website

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on April 24, 2018

After months of planning and hard work, Pasco County Government is delighted to announce the launch of our new website. Our goal was to craft a more accessible format to better collaborate with our partners, customers, and visitors to create a clean, elegant, professional, and easily accessible engagement tool. The site has been redesigned with our end users in mind. Expanded search capabilities, mobile device compatibility, streamlined menu options, simpler navigation, and direct access to the information you need are just a few of our enhanced features.

Check it out at www.pascocountyfl.net

The first thing you will notice is the search bar – it’s big, it’s prominent, it’s meant to help our users. As we improve our pages, we are also improving our search terms so our customers can find what they need quickly.

The main menu provides access to department information and tools. Facebook, Twitter and Pasco TV are available on the home page. The Search Bar (How can we help) provides improved search functionality. Icons located in the center of the page give direct access to Online Bill Pay, Transparency, Customer Service, Job and Volunteer Opportunities, and Parks and Recreation. The Spotlight section has a carousel of helpful and current information about Pasco departments, such as the wait times at Central Permitting locations. There is a General Calendar or view Public Meetings or Events.

The latest News, Facebook and Twitter feeds are located at the bottom of the home page. Scroll down (or across depending on the device) to access them without ever leaving the home page. Helpful Links provide quick access to Adopt a Pet, Agendas, the Purchasing Department, Disaster Planning and more. The Share icon, located above the footer, allows residents to share not only to Facebook and Twitter, but also to Google+, Pinterest, Delicious, Stumble Upon, Blogger and Linkedin. Above the footer is a Tools icon. Use this to email or print pages, translate a page into any one of dozens of languages, peruse documents, and more.

The new site was built to be compliant to ADA (Section 508) and WCAG 2.0 A and AA levels. The site includes alternative text for images and includes content with a screen reader in mind. Pasco County will show an ongoing good-faith effort to keep the content compliant.

We hope that you enjoy exploring the new PascoCountyFL.net!
