As part of the GO Bond (General Obligation Bond) initiative voters approved in 2018, remodeling work is happening now at the following two libraries:

  • New River Library – 34043 State Road 54, Wesley Chapel.
  • Centennial Park Library – 5740 Moog Rd, Holiday

In addition to the complete remodel, the newly ‘imagined’ Centennial Park Library will include a maker space focusing on studio arts and photo retouching, and the improved New River Library will include an expanded garden area with a shaded space for presentations & demonstrations.

New River Library and Centennial Park Library were closed in October 2019.  Demolition and clean out started soon after, and both branches are slated to re-open by the end of 2020.

“More than ever, we’re excited to be moving forward with these remodels for our customers in Pasco County,” said Pasco County Library System Program Manager Bob Harrison.   “Two-thirds of voters approved the bond measure in 2018, and we are committed to providing modern, world class libraries to Pasco County.”

All seven Pasco County library branches will be remodeled from top to bottom.  The interiors will be completely updated and modernized. There will be new spaces for adults, teens, and kids, as well as meeting spaces, new technology, a lobby with self-service café, an art display area, and a central service desk.

BACKGROUND:

  • GO Bond:  Pasco voters approved a GO Bond (General Obligation Bond) initiative in November 2018 to remodel (or “reimagine”) all seven branches of the Pasco County Library System.  The GO Bond made $18.6 million available for the renovations. Projects are scheduled to be complete within five years of the bond passing.
