Pasco County offers free preview of new Master Gardener Class

Pre‑registration required for ‘Meet and Greet’ sessions in March

The UF/IFAS Pasco County Cooperative Extension Service is offering two free ‘Meet and Greet’ sessions for anyone who would like to apply for the 2017 UF/IFAS Master Gardener Volunteer Training Class.  Potential applicants must attend one ‘Meet and Greet’ session on either Friday, March 17, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. ‑ 12:00 p.m. or Friday, March 24, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. ‑ 3:00 p.m.  Both sessions will be held at the Land O’ Lakes Community Center located at 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., Land O’ Lakes, FL.

At the sessions, potential Master Gardener Class applicants will meet veteran Master Gardeners and learn about the training and volunteer requirements.  Applicants will also visit with County Extension Director/Urban Horticulture Agent and Master Gardener Coordinator Dr. Whitney Elmore and Florida‑Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator and Class Instructor Mr. Jim Moll.

To be considered for the 2017 Master Gardener Class, applicants must first attend a ‘Meet and Greet’ session.  Pre‑registration for the ‘Meet and Greet’ sessions is required, as seating is limited.

The 2017 UF/IFAS Master Gardener Volunteer Training Class will be held from May through August, 2017 in Land O’ Lakes.
