Remembering Florida’s Fallen memorial opens October 15 with special ceremony

Pasco County will host a solemn tribute to Florida’s fallen heroes – the men and women who’ve lost their lives in service to our country since September 11, 2001.  An opening ceremony for the traveling photo memorial, Remembering Florida’s Fallen, will be held October 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the West Pasco Government Center, 8731 Citizens Drive, New Port Richey, Florida.

“We’re honored to host this tribute to Florida’s heroes, and to help ensure their names and sacrifices are not forgotten,” said Pasco County Commission Chairman Mike Wells.  “We truly value our veterans in Pasco County, not just with words, but with programs and services that help them and their families live better lives.”

The Remembering Florida’s Fallen memorial will be on display at the West Pasco Government Center October 15 through October 26, 2018.  The display, which spans more than100 feet, contains military and personal photos, personal messages, and tributes to Florida service members who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our nation.

The memorial will also be on display at the Pasco County Fairgrounds’ Higgins Hall November 3, 2018 from 10:00 – 3:00 as part of the Pasco Veterans Resource Fair.
