Pasco County Pet of the Week

Diesel (ID: 49053792) is on the hunt for his perfect match! He participates in playgroups, enjoying a game of chase with other dogs. He prefers females and will even share his beloved rope toys with them. He likes to play fetch and LOVES to go for walks. He does pull on a leash, so he will need someone who can handle his strength. This 2-year-old, 60-pound guy can be a bit of a rough player, but he takes treats gently. He also knows the sit, shake, stay and come commands. Diesel is wary of strangers, but warms up once he’s outside of “his” space and realizes you’re a friend. Can you provide Diesel with one-on-one companionship – or maybe even a doggy friend? Graygirl (ID: 49168357) is the easiest dog! She is low-key, calm and doesn’t make much noise outside of the occasional snort or grunt. Her favorite thing is to relax on her soft blankets or the cool floor and take a nap. She rides well in the car, going right into her kennel. This sweet-natured girl loves attention and is friendly with all people, including children. She likes to give kisses and be petted. She has also participated in playgroups with other dogs, mostly showing a gentle, quieter style of play. Despite being a senior of 10 years, Graygirl still has some pep in her step, though she’s best suited for short strolls rather than long hikes. She loves treats, but at about 85 pounds, she should probably not have too many. A healthy diet and slow introduction to an exercise regimen would help her get in shape! She sits and shakes on command, but could learn to take treats a little more gently. She’s just so enthusiastic about them! Graygirl does have several age-related health concerns that Pasco County Animal Services staff would be happy to discuss with you. Can you provide this wonderful girl a comfortable home to live out her golden years? Make an appointment to meet her today!

Knox (ID: 49054256) is looking for someone who understands him. He is wary of strangers, but quickly warms up once he’s outside of “his” space and realizes you’re a friend. This 6-year-old, 65-pound guy is food-motivated and takes treats gently. He also walks well on a leash. Knox can be nervous at times, but he is also a sweet boy with a lot of love to give to his human. He may never be a social butterfly, but he would likely bond with one person. He would do best in a home without other pets. He also tested positive for heartworms, but his treatment will be sponsored upon adoption. Can you provide Knox with the one-on-one companionship he desires? Make an appointment with Pasco County Animal Services today!

Rubble (ID: 49300745) is such a loveable guy, with his squishy face and sweet nature. He is friendly, affectionate and loves to give kisses – but be warned, he will slobber! This 4-year-old is a big guy of about 75 pounds but could stand to fill out by gaining a few more. Rubble walks well on a leash, knows the sit and stay commands, and takes treats gently. He doesn’t like to share his food, though. He also will require a home without other dogs or children. Rubble would make a loyal companion for the right match.
