‘Stuff the Bus’ event benefits local food banks

Pasco County Public Transportation (PCPT) is pleased to announce the results of the 2017 ‘Stuff the Bus’ holiday food drive.  Our community donated more than 8,000 pounds of food and more than 100 turkeys, hams and chickens for The Volunteer Way Food Pantry.

Community partners and individual Pasco County residents arrived at collection sites in New Port Richey and Wesley Chapel on Saturday, November 18, 2017 with bags, shopping carts and, in some cases, entire pallets of food!

“We’re thrilled at how much food the annual drive collected from the community,” said Pasco County Public Transportation Director Kurt Scheible.  “We’d like to thank each individual, group and business for their amazing generosity.”

PCPT would also like to extend a special thank-you to theChapel of Tarpon Springs for donating a pallet of frozen turkeys and to Trinity Ultimate Fitness for collecting so much food through its members.

The Volunteer Way is distributing the food to Pasco County children, seniors, adults and families in need.

The annual ‘Stuff the Bus’ event is held in partnership with The Volunteer Way and PCPT.
