Pasco County Pursues Economic Growth with Overpass Business Park
Florida Job Growth Grant Fund awards Pasco $3M, supporting innovative, new project
The Pasco County Office of Economic Growth is transforming County-owned land along the Interstate-75 corridor into high-paying jobs and opportunity, thanks to a generous $3,088,580 award from the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund. Once complete, the Overpass Business Park project will support four to five thousand jobs and be home to 2.2 million square feet of industrial and office development.
“Overpass Business Park represents another realization of Pasco County’s ongoing commitment to strategic, robust economic growth, and we sincerely thank the State for its partnership in moving this critical initiative forward,” said Pasco County Economic Growth Manager David Engel.
The 100-acre, shovel-ready economic development site overlooks I-75 and is located 1.5 miles north of State Road 54 and just south of the proposed new connection at Overpass Road and I-75.
By 2022-2023, the site improvements will be completed and Overpass Business Park will be ready for development.
The Florida Job Growth Grant Fund, established in 2017 by Governor Rick Scott and the Florida Legislature, provides $85 million for improving public infrastructure and enhancing workforce training in Florida. Since July, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) has received more than 100 proposals requesting over $610 million in funding.
