Pasco County Recognizes Award Winning Landscapes

UF/IFAS Pasco County Extension is proud to announce our 2020 Tampa Bay Community Water Wise Award winners!  This award honors the winners’ commitment to conserving our water resources and protecting the environment by using Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ principals.

Our Pasco County winners are:

  • Residential Landscape

Joel Jackson, Land O’ Lakes

  • Non-Residential Landscape

Laura Starkey, Heartwood Preserve

Pasco County Commissioners presented both winners with a custom, mosaic stepping stone during separate ceremonies.

Watch this VIDEO to see the special presentations, and to find out how each winner balances attractive, landscape design with water-efficient irrigation techniques to create a positive impact on our water resources, native wildlife and aquatic environments.

Pasco County Cooperative Extension, in partnership with Pasco County Utilities, Tampa Bay Water and the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program, promotes the Water Wise program to help dispel the myth that attractive landscapes require intensive water usage.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2021 Tampa Bay Community Water-Wise Awards.  For more information and to apply, visit: awards.tampabaywaterwise.org.
