The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners is accepting applications from individuals interested in filling a vacant Board Member seat on the Pasco-Hernando Workforce Board. The category of representation as defined, by Local Workforce Development Board Composition, Certification and Decertification Policy Number 91 (CareerSource Florida), calls for “representatives of community-based organizations that have demonstrated experience and expertise in addressing the employment needs of individuals with barriers to employment, including organizations that serve veterans or provide/support competitive integrated employment for individuals with disabilities”; or “representatives of organizations that have demonstrated experience and expertise in addressing the employment, training, or education needs of eligible youth, including representative or organizations that serve out-of-school youth.”

The Pasco-Hernando Workforce Board is a not-for-profit organization that serves Pasco and Hernando counties by administering local workforce development and welfare reform programs through state and federal initiatives. The Workforce Board is one of 24 regional Workforce Boards in Florida operating under the governance of CareerSource Florida, which was created in 2000 by the Workforce Innovation Act, with a focus on employment, education and economic development. The Board meets quarterly, alternating meetings between the New Port Richey and Spring Hill locations. Members of the Board serve a term of four years.
