Pasco County Public Transportation (PCPT) was recently honored by its peers with a first place for electronic media/audio-visual transit operation for their live broadcast with local radio station, Hits 106, and radio talent Marvelous Marvin at the Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA) Annual Conference on December 11, 2016.

The remote live broadcast from a PCPT bus took place on August 15, 2016 during a one-hour round‑trip bus ride from Trinity to the Wiregrass Mall, stopping and showcasing the New Tampa Premium Outlet bus stop.

Marvelous Marvin, of HITS 106, interviews Kathleen Medeiros, 108, on PCPT’s bus during the live broadcast August 15, 2016.

PCPT offered free rides to the community on Route 54 to view the new buses as well as promote the new Cross County Route 54 expansion.  Marvelous Marvin and Hits 106 broadcasted live on the bus, promoting the new route expansion, speaking to PCPT customers, and giving away prizes and VIP coupons to the Tampa Bay Premium Outlet Mall.

PCPT’s longtime passenger, Kathleen Medeiros, was there to kick off the new route.  Ms. Madeiros is 108 years young!

Kathleen began using PCPT when we initiated limited fixed route services in 1996.  She takes the PCPT bus regularly and knows most of the bus drivers and administrative staff.

Pasco Board of County Commissioners honored Kathleen today with an honorary lifetime bus pass for being a longtime, dedicated PCPT passenger.
