Pearl in the Grove and Rebecca’s Closed: Local Public House to grow

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on October 17, 2016

Hello All!
Focus is a good thing.  After a tumultuous few weeks, Rebecca and I have arrived at the difficult decision of closing Pearl in the Grove and Rebecca’s at City Market.  We are going to focus on making our largest, most profitable location perform as excellently as possible.
The Pearl was a labor of love  (and sometimes desperation!)  for us.  Over our six years there, we beat the odds by opening a fine dining restaurant in the country in a down economy.  We earned our chops, built a reputation, learned a bunch, garnered some recognition,  and made some wonderful friends.  We also encountered the harsh economic reality that fourteen tables won’t feed a family.
Rebecca’s was simply a case of my reach exceeding my grasp.
All that being said, we are concentrating on  Local Public House and Provisions.  We’re moving the coffee station from Dade City out to San Ann, and we’re going to expand the menu at Local to include some more traditional dinner & lunch items.  We’re continuing our commitment to locally sourcing our ingredients and delivering excellent service.
We are going to cancel the Kevin Bacon dinner, but we’re going to have an  Angry Chair tap takeover on October 21st that will feature his bounty.  If you purchased a ticket to the Kevin Bacon dinner, we’re going to give you Local gift cards for the purchased amount.

Thanks so much for the support…  we truly appreciate it!

Sincerely,

Curtis & Rebecca
