Pet of the Week – Max and Buster

By Meaghan Goepferich Posted on November 1, 2022

Please note that Pasco County Animal Services is currently closed to dog adoptions with the intention of reopening this service in mid-November. Please plan to visit then to meet Buster!

Max (ID: A000118) is a good-looking guy in the market for his perfect match! This 3-year-old weighs about 75 pounds. He walks well on a leash and appears house-trained. He is learning to make canine friends, preferring smaller groups of gentle playmates. He can be unsure when interacting with other dogs, though, so he may do best as an only pet or with a female his size. If you have another pup, a meet-and-greet is recommended. As always, slow introductions and careful supervision are key to making doggy friends. Max doesn’t like to share his food, so a home with adults only or older children may be best. He’s looking for a stable home where he can get comfortable and be the loyal, loving companion he was meant to be. Buster (ID: A001429) is a young pup finding his way in the world. This 2-year-old weighs about 55 pounds. He is friendly, sweet and happy. He loves making new friends, and he wants to please his person. He walks well on a leash and takes treats gently, but he could use some work on jumping. Buster participates in playgroups, enjoying a game of chase with other dogs. He is energetic and would do best in a home where he can get the exercise and attention he needs. He can be destructive when unattended, so close supervision and training are needed. With someone who can teach him how to be a well-mannered pet, Buster would be a lovable companion.
