Pet of the Week – Turnip and Shelby
Turnip (ID: A000110) is a playful, smart guy looking for an adopter who understands him. This 3-year-old sits on command and takes treats gently. However, at 70 pounds, he should probably not have too many! A healthy diet and plenty of exercise will help to get him in tip-top shape. Turnip may be easily house-trained, as he keeps his kennel clean and potties as soon as he goes outside. He is generally easy to walk, but can sometimes pull. He’s just so ready to go!
Turnip has participated in small playgroups at the shelter, but may do best as an only pet or with a calm female dog. He also doesn’t like sharing his food or toys, so a home with adults only or older children may be best. Turnip did test positive for heartworms, but his treatment will be sponsored upon adoption. Shelby (ID: A001612) is such a good girl! This 5-year-old weighs about 55 pounds. She listens well and knows the sit, down, shake, stay and come commands. She takes treats gently and walks well on a leash. She’s also good in the car, going right in without making any noise or messes. Shelby is friendly with both people and other dogs, participating in playgroups at the shelter. Make an appointment with Pasco County Animal Services today to meet her and you won’t regret it!
